Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has responded to the government’s invitation to lead an all-party delegation to key partner countries, including members of the UN Security Council, later this month. The visit aims to convey India’s firm stand on zero tolerance against terrorism, following the recent Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. Tharoor affirmed that whenever the nation’s interest demands his involvement, he will be ready to serve.

“I am honoured by the invitation of the Government of India to lead an all-party delegation to five key capitals, to present our nation’s point of view on recent events,” Tharoor wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Emphasising the need for unity in matters of national interest, he added, “When national interest is involved and my services are required, I will not be found wanting. Jai Hind!”

A statement from the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry on Saturday said the delegations would reflect India’s united stance and unwavering commitment to combat terrorism in all forms. The government has carefully selected articulate and prominent leaders from across the political spectrum to lead these delegations.

The delegations will be headed by BJP MPs Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha, DMK’s Kanimozhi, NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, and Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Shinde. Of the seven, four represent the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), while three are from the opposition INDIA bloc. Each delegation will also include experienced diplomats.

The ministry’s statement further noted that in the wake of Operation Sindoor and India’s ongoing battle against cross-border terrorism, the delegations will soon visit key partner nations to deliver India’s message of zero tolerance against terrorism.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also shared the announcement on X, stating, “In moments that matter most, Bharat stands united. Seven all-party delegations will soon visit key partner nations, carrying our shared message of zero tolerance to terrorism.” He added, “A powerful reflection of national unity above politics, beyond differences.”
