Gurgaon: A 51-year-old motorcyclist died after a speeding school bus allegedly rammed into his bike near Wazirabad in Sector 52 on Monday afternoon, police said.

The victim, Mohammad Mustafa, was attempting a U-turn at a road median gap around 3 pm when the bus struck him. His brother, Arif Saifi, who was riding alongside on a separate bike, witnessed the accident and later filed a police complaint, leading to an FIR.

Both brothers, welders by trade, hail from Meerut. While Mustafa lived in Delhi’s Sangam Vihar with his family, Saifi resides in Gurgaon’s Sector 7.

According to police, the bus — belonging to Manav Rachna International School in Sector 46 — was carrying 12 students at the time. The driver, Munesh Kumar, 42, reportedly failed to brake in time, causing the fatal collision.

Mustafa was rushed to a private hospital in Sector 51, where he was declared dead on arrival. Police said the driver did not flee and assisted in taking Mustafa to the hospital, while also informing the school administration. He later appeared before investigators and was arrested.

“The driver did help us, but the bus had already run over my brother’s chest. He was driving too fast and didn’t slow down when he should have,” Saifi said.

An FIR was registered at Sector 53 police station under sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving on a public way) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The bus has been seized, and police said the accused will be produced before a magistrate soon.

School officials told police the bus was operated by a private contractor and assured full cooperation with the investigation, sources added.
