YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra Confesses to Links with Pakistani High Commission Official: Police

Hisar, May 21 — YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra has admitted to maintaining regular contact with a staffer from the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, police officials confirmed on Tuesday.

According to Hisar Police spokesperson Vikas Kumar, Malhotra confessed during interrogation that she was in touch with Ehsan-ur-Rahim, alias Danish — a Pakistani national and official at the High Commission — between November 2023 and March 2025. Authorities suspect Danish was attempting to cultivate Malhotra as an intelligence asset.

“She confirmed direct communication with Danish during this period,” Kumar said. “She was also connected with several other YouTube influencers. Three of her mobile phones, a laptop, and two phones belonging to Harkirat Singh, IT in-charge of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC), have been sent for forensic analysis.”

Sources said Malhotra was extensively questioned by teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) over suspected links with Pakistani intelligence operatives (PIOs). Her associations and conversations are now part of a wider investigation.

A senior Hisar police official, requesting anonymity, revealed, “She holds multiple bank accounts with several financial transactions under scrutiny. It will take time to analyze the complete financial trail.”

Espionage Network Probe

Investigators are also examining Malhotra’s international travel history. Passport records indicate she acquired her passport in 2018, valid until 2028, and has visited Pakistan, China, Dubai, Thailand, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Indonesia.

Police plan to produce Malhotra in a local court on Wednesday to seek an extension of her remand for further interrogation.

She is among 12 individuals arrested from Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh over the past fortnight in connection with an alleged espionage network linked to Pakistan, reportedly active in north India.
