India Rejects Pakistani Army Chief’s ‘Jugular Vein’ Remark on Kashmir, Reiterates Call to Vacate Illegally Occupied Territory

India has strongly dismissed comments made by Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir, who described Kashmir as Pakistan’s “jugular vein.” In a sharp response, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and stated that Pakistan’s only link to the region is its illegal occupation of certain territories.

“How can anything foreign be in a jugular vein?” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told reporters. “This is a Union Territory of India. Its only relationship with Pakistan is the vacation of illegally occupied territories by that country.”

Jaiswal’s remarks came shortly after a video of General Munir addressing Pakistani citizens went viral. In the footage, Munir urged the public to pass on the story of Pakistan’s creation to future generations, invoking the two-nation theory.

“Our forefathers thought we were different from Hindus in every possible aspect of life,” Munir said. “Our religion is different, our customs are different, our traditions are different, our thoughts are different, our ambitions are different. That’s where the foundation of the two-nation theory was laid. We are two nations, we are not one.”

He further emphasized the sacrifices made during Pakistan’s formation, asserting that the country’s sovereignty and resilience remain unshakable.

“Our forefathers have sacrificed immensely, and we have sacrificed a lot for the creation of this country, and we know how to defend it,” he said. Addressing the youth, he added, “Please don’t forget the story of Pakistan and narrate it to future generations, so their bond with the nation stays strong.”

Commenting on the ongoing security concerns in Balochistan, General Munir vowed firm military action against militant groups operating in the region.

“We will beat the hell out of these terrorists very soon,” he said, referring to groups like the BLA, BLF, and BRA. “Do Pakistan’s enemies think that a handful of terrorists can decide the fate of Pakistan? Even ten generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan and Pakistan.”

The army chief also acknowledged the support of overseas Pakistanis, thanking them for their continued loyalty to the country.
