Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, has taken the box office by storm, crossing the ₹400 crore milestone globally in just two days of its release. According to Sacnilk.com, the film earned ₹421.30 crore worldwide by Day 2.
Day 2 Collection Breakdown: The film amassed ₹10.65 crore net during its premiere screenings across India, followed by ₹164.25 crore on its opening day. On Day 2, the film earned ₹93.8 crore despite a 42.89% dip, bringing the total net collection in India to ₹268.7 crore, with the gross standing at ₹321.3 crore. Internationally, the film added ₹100 crore to its total, achieving a worldwide gross of ₹421.30 crore. The Telugu version’s occupancy rate was a strong 53% on Friday, with expectations for a further surge in the weekend numbers.
Setting Records Across the Globe: Pushpa 2 set a new record for the highest opening day ever for an Indian film, grossing ₹294 crore on Day 1, surpassing RRR’s ₹223 crore. The film also achieved the biggest opening for both a Hindi film and a Telugu film dubbed in Hindi.
Gautam Dutta, CEO of PVR INOX, noted that the film is on track to become a cult hit, predicting footfalls in the range of 50-60 lakh over the weekend. He estimates the film could eventually gross between ₹800-1000 crore. Amit Sharma, MD of Miraj Entertainment Ltd, echoed this sentiment, stating that the Hindi-dubbed version alone is expected to gross ₹300 crore over the weekend.
