Amit Shah Accuses Hemant Soren of Backdoor Muslim Reservation Plans, Vows to Defeat Efforts
On Saturday, November 16, 2024, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accusing him of conspiring to introduce Muslim reservations through covert channels with the backing of the Congress. Shah firmly warned that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would thwart any such attempts.
“Hemant Soren, with Congress support, is attempting to grant reservations to Muslims through backdoor mechanisms. I make it clear that the BJP will not allow Soren and Rahul Gandhi’s plans to succeed,” Shah declared during a rally in Dumka, Jharkhand.
Shah also accused the Jharkhand government of supporting infiltration for vote bank politics and blamed Soren for the declining tribal population. He alleged that Soren had allowed infiltrators to enter the state, marry tribal women, and seize tribal land—a move Shah vowed to prevent.
He compared the contributions of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state. While Singh had allocated ₹84,000 crore to Jharkhand over ten years, Modi’s government had committed ₹3.90 lakh crore to the state.
Accusing Soren of corruption, Shah declared, “Hemant Soren’s corruption and mismanagement will end on November 23. His lust for power made him sit on the lap of the RJD-Congress, parties that once opposed the creation of Jharkhand.”
Shah also made promises for Jharkhand’s future, assuring that a BJP-led government would set up enough industries to ensure no youth would have to migrate in search of work. He emphasized that the BJP would focus on rehabilitation plans first before displacing anyone for development projects.
Lastly, Shah praised the success of Prime Minister Modi’s anti-Naxal efforts, claiming that Jharkhand had been largely freed from Naxal influence and that any remaining issues would be resolved by March 2025.
