The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has sounded an alarm over what it calls a “deep conspiracy to eliminate” its leader and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal. This comes after an alleged assault on Kejriwal during his ‘padyatra’ campaign in Vikaspuri, West Delhi. AAP leaders have accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating the attack, warning that the BJP will be held accountable if any harm comes to Kejriwal.

At a press conference on Saturday, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged that Kejriwal was targeted by “BJP goons” while he was campaigning in the area. Singh claimed, “The police’s inaction in the incident clearly signals a deep conspiracy to kill Kejriwal. The BJP has become an enemy of his life.”

Despite the alleged attack, Singh confirmed that Kejriwal would press on with his campaign as scheduled. He raised concerns over perceived police inaction, suggesting it reflects bias in handling the incident. “Had the police been impartial, this wouldn’t have occurred. From what we understand, the attackers are affiliated with the BJP’s youth wing,” Singh added.

When asked why AAP had not filed a formal complaint, Singh argued that it was the police’s responsibility to initiate an investigation. “The police can take cognizance and launch a probe on their own,” he stated, mentioning that AAP is consulting legal experts on the next steps.

**BJP’s Response**
BJP leaders dismissed AAP’s accusations, attributing the protests to local grievances over dirty water supplies. They argued that Kejriwal was merely facing backlash from frustrated residents.

In a strong response, Singh declared that Kejriwal would “neither stop nor bow down” in his fight for the people of Delhi. He warned, “If any harm comes to Kejriwal, even a scratch, the BJP will be responsible, and the people of Delhi will not stand idle.”
