The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a Rs 10 lakh reward for information leading to the arrest of Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Anmol, who is wanted for his involvement in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, was named in two NIA cases registered in 2022. Investigations indicate that he fled India on a fake passport, and in April, he took to Facebook to claim responsibility for a shooting outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence.

Known as “Bhanu,” Anmol allegedly played a crucial role in providing weapons and logistical support to the perpetrators in the Moosewala case. With 18 criminal cases against him, including several related to extortion, the NIA has intensified its search, encouraging the public to come forward with information. The agency is also collecting voice samples from across the country to match with evidence they have obtained, with a focus on building technical proof to advance legal action against him, as per an NIA official.

Anmol was previously flagged on a list of India’s most notorious gangsters compiled by the Union Home Ministry last year. In 2023, the NIA filed a comprehensive chargesheet naming 14 people, including Lawrence and Anmol, accusing them of masterminding a criminal conspiracy aimed at inciting terror through targeted killings. The alleged conspiracy involved threats to prominent social, religious, and entertainment figures, including movie stars and singers.

The chargesheet highlights links to international networks, suggesting that the accused have ties with conspirators based in Pakistan and pro-Khalistan elements in Canada, Nepal, and other countries. This network, according to the NIA, is aimed at expanding organized crime and leveraging international connections to further their activities. The NIA has now called upon the public to aid in locating Anmol, emphasizing the high priority of this investigation in light of his extensive criminal involvement and international affiliations.
