Share Market Today: Sensex and Nifty Reach New Record Highs
Market Overview: On Tuesday, the Sensex and Nifty benchmarks soared to new record highs amid positive global trends. By 9:50 am, the BSE Sensex had climbed 343 points to reach 77,336, while the NSE Nifty50 was up 105 points, trading at 23,570.
Stock Updates: Among the 30-share Sensex components, M&M, Wipro, Titan, PowerGrid, TechM, and SBI were the top gainers. Conversely, Maruti, UltraCemco, Kotak Bank, Asian Paints, and Reliance were among the top losers.
In broader market activity, approximately 2,193 shares advanced, 734 shares declined, and 156 shares remained unchanged. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rose by 0.34% and 1%, respectively.
Sectoral Performance: Sector-wise, Metal stocks, PSU banks, and IT were the top performers, while the healthcare and pharma indices lagged.
Previous Session Recap: In the previous session on Friday, the BSE Sensex had gained 182 points to close at 76,993, and the NSE Nifty50 had settled at 23,466, up 67 points.
Markets were closed on Monday due to Eid Al-Adha.
