Gujarat ATS Arrests Man for Leaking Classified BSF, Navy Information to Pakistan
The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested Sahdev Singh Gohil, a multipurpose health worker from Kachchh, for allegedly sharing sensitive information concerning the Border Security Force (BSF) and Indian Navy with a Pakistani agent.
Confirming the arrest, Gujarat ATS SP K Siddharth said, “We had credible information that Gohil was passing on classified details about BSF and Navy sites to a Pakistani agent. Following this, he was taken in for questioning on May 1.”
During the preliminary inquiry, it was revealed that Gohil came in contact with a woman identifying herself as Aditi Bharadwaj on WhatsApp around June-July 2023. He later discovered that she was a Pakistani operative who requested photos and videos of BSF and Navy installations, especially those newly built or under construction. Gohil allegedly obliged, forwarding sensitive media through WhatsApp.
In early 2025, Gohil reportedly procured a SIM card using his Aadhaar credentials and activated WhatsApp on it for Bharadwaj’s use, sharing further photos and videos related to BSF and Indian Air Force (IAF) infrastructure. According to officials, the Pakistani handler used this number for espionage activities.
SP Siddharth added that Gohil received ₹40,000 in cash from an unidentified individual suspected to be linked to the spy network. His mobile phone has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for examination. Investigations also confirmed that the WhatsApp accounts in Bharadwaj’s name were operated from Pakistan.
A case has been registered against Gohil and the Pakistani agent under Sections 61 and 148 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The arrest forms part of the ATS’s ongoing nationwide operation targeting anti-national networks, particularly those with suspected ties to Pakistan.
