Two Interstate Robbers Arrested for Gunpoint Cash Heist at Dwarka Logistics Firm
Delhi Police arrested two interstate robbers on Sunday in connection with a gunpoint cash robbery at a Delhivery logistics branch in Dwarka Sector 19. The accused, identified as Harmeet (31) and Yogesh (30), both from Rohtak, were apprehended in Jharoda Kalan, Delhi. Police recovered Rs 54,500 in stolen cash, along with mobile phones and the clothing worn during the robbery.
The robbery took place on April 29 when three armed men stole approximately Rs 2 lakh and a DVR from the logistics office before fleeing on a stolen motorcycle. The bike had been taken the previous night from Bahadurgarh, Haryana.
Police traced the culprits’ movements through an extensive analysis of CCTV footage from around 500 cameras, alongside technical surveillance. The investigation led to the identification of the suspects, who were tracked from Dwarka Sector 19 to Jharoda Kalan.
Harmeet, a former employee of the logistics company, is believed to have masterminded the heist with Yogesh and a third accomplice, Gurdas. The robbery was allegedly planned to fund Gurdas’s sister’s wedding. During questioning, the accused confessed to their involvement, stating that they abandoned the stolen bike after the crime. Police revealed that both Harmeet and Yogesh had been arrested in previous robbery cases in Rewari, Luharu, and Bhiwani in 2015-16.
