Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded to India’s strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday, calling it Bharat’s answer to the “brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam.” Expressing pride in the armed forces, Shah wrote on X, “Proud of our armed forces. Operation Sindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam.”
He emphasized that the Indian government is committed to giving a strong reply to any attack on India. “The Modi government is resolved to give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people. Bharat remains firmly committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots,” Shah added.
BJP President JP Nadda also supported the operation, highlighting India’s firm stance on terrorism. On X, Nadda wrote, “India’s message on Pahalgam – If you tease us, we won’t let you go. PM Modi said those who attack the soul of India will face severe punishment. India is both capable and determined to uproot terrorism from its roots. We will eradicate the scourge of terrorism.”
The terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 claimed 26 lives, prompting India to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, expel Pakistani nationals, and downgrade diplomatic ties.
The nine sites targeted in ‘Operation Sindoor’ were selected based on intelligence about terror camps operating in Pakistan and PoK. The Ministry of Defence clarified that the strikes were “focused, measured, and non-escalatory,” emphasizing that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted. The statement added, “India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution.”
