Rain, Hailstorm, and Strong Winds Hit Himachal Pradesh, Enhancing Shimla’s Charm

As predicted by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of Himachal Pradesh experienced a spell of rain, hailstorm, and strong winds over the past 24 hours. While the weather turned turbulent briefly, no significant damage or loss has been reported from any of the affected regions.

In the state capital, Shimla, the fresh rainfall and mild hailstorm brought a refreshing change, making the atmosphere more pleasant and comfortable. For orchardists, farmers, and residents, the unexpected showers provided much-needed relief, while tourists were treated to an enchanting weather experience that enhanced the charm of their visit.

The recent showers have significantly boosted Shimla’s natural beauty, making it even more appealing to visitors who are enjoying the cool and comfortable climate.

Subhash, a tourist from Nepal, expressed his delight over the unexpected weather change.

“We arrived in Shimla last evening, and it was a bit hot at first. But by the night and the next morning, light rain and hail transformed the weather into something beautiful and pleasant,” Subhash shared.

He described the post-rain atmosphere as heavenly, adding, “This is such a wonderful place. We are truly enjoying our time here. It feels like we’ve reached heaven.”

The light morning rain and hailstorm, he said, made the surroundings even more breathtaking. “It’s so much fun. The weather after the early morning rain and hailstorm looks even more beautiful now,” Subhash added.

The IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, in the next one to two hours across Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, and Una districts.

Earlier today, the Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) had predicted light to moderate rainfall across Kullu, Mandi, and Kangra districts in the early hours, with some areas likely to experience intense weather conditions, including thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and gusty winds.
