Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 3: Salman Khan’s Film Nears ₹150 Crore Mark, Surpasses Laal Singh Chaddha’s Lifetime Earnings
One of the most anticipated films of the year, Salman Khan’s Sikandar, hit theatres on March 30. The action-thriller opened to a mixed response, earning ₹26 crore on its first day. Now, the film is inching closer to the ₹150 crore milestone.
Sikandar’s Worldwide Collection
According to the makers, Sikandar grossed ₹27.16 crore in India on its first Tuesday and added ₹8.10 crore globally, pushing its domestic total to ₹102 crore and its worldwide earnings to ₹141.15 crore. However, trade estimates suggest a lower collection of ₹19.5 crore on Day 3, bringing its Indian total to ₹74.5 crore and global earnings to ₹123.75 crore.
Despite the strong numbers, Sikandar‘s box office performance falls short when compared to Salman’s previous Eid blockbusters. However, it has already surpassed the lifetime earnings of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, which ended its theatrical run at ₹133 crore. The 2022 film, despite later finding an audience on Netflix, was deemed one of Aamir’s biggest box office failures.
Salman Khan’s Box Office Prediction
Ahead of the release, Salman Khan had confidently predicted Sikandar‘s commercial success, regardless of its critical reception. During the film’s trailer launch, he stated, “Eid, Diwali, New Year, festive, non-festive—it’s the love of the people. Picture acchi ho ya buri ho, woh sau (₹100 crore) toh paar kara hi dete hain” (Whether the film is good or bad, it will at least cross ₹100 crore). He later added that Sikandar would surpass ₹200 crore, remarking, “₹100 crore bohot pehle ki baat hai” (₹100 crore is a thing of the past).
About Sikandar
Directed by AR Murugadoss, known for Ghajini, and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar marks Salman Khan’s return to the big screen after the underwhelming performance of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
Despite the star power, the film has received mixed reactions. While some viewers praised the action sequences, others criticized the weak storyline and underwhelming visuals. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar in pivotal roles.
