BJP Leaders Guide Newly Elected MLAs, Emphasize Transparency and Development

A day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a decisive victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, senior party leaders met with the newly elected MLAs, urging them to uphold transparency and swiftly begin work on improving the city.

With 48 seats in the 70-member House, the BJP ended its 27-year absence from power in the Capital, dethroning the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which had governed Delhi for the past decade.

On Sunday, the victorious candidates engaged in discussions with Delhi’s Lok Sabha MPs, national general secretary (organization) BL Santhosh, national vice president Baijayant Panda, and Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva.

Emphasis on Discipline, Transparency, and Development

According to a senior BJP leader, the newly elected MLAs were given guidance on working within the party’s organizational and administrative framework.

“Senior leaders stressed the importance of maintaining complete transparency in governance. They reiterated key points from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s victory address and urged MLAs to begin efforts to build a ‘Developed Delhi’ without delay,” the leader said, requesting anonymity.

The BJP headquarters at Pant Marg was in a celebratory mood, adorned with tricolor lights and large portraits of party ideologues. MLAs were welcomed with traditional Uttarakhandi music, and sweets were distributed. Senior leaders briefed them on their political responsibilities, party discipline, and public conduct.

Next Chief Minister to Be Chosen by Central Leadership

BJP leaders emphasized that the party’s central leadership would decide the next chief minister of Delhi, affirming that a “dedicated BJP worker” would assume the role.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, elected from Rajouri Garden, said the meeting focused on prioritizing development projects in various constituencies.

“Water supply, sewage systems, air pollution, and cleaning the Yamuna are among the top priorities,” he stated.

Tarvinder Singh Marwah, who defeated Manish Sisodia in Jangpura, credited the BJP’s victory to Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

“This election became one-sided because of PM Modi’s guarantees. Arvind Kejriwal failed to fulfill his promises, but we will ensure every commitment is delivered,” he said.

Commitment to Deliver on Promises

Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal said the meeting served as an introduction for the newly elected MLAs.

“Prime Minister Modi has made it clear—BJP will fulfill every resolution it has made to the people,” he asserted.

Matiala MLA Sandeep Sehrawat highlighted local development initiatives, stating:

“Our focus is on delivering results. In my constituency, we will work on enhancing youth facilities, developing a new stadium, and ensuring the West Campus of Delhi University is operational.”

With the BJP set to take charge in Delhi after nearly three decades, the party’s leadership has signaled a clear focus on governance, accountability, and rapid development.
