AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya Booked for Alleged Misconduct

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Dinesh Mohaniya has been booked by the Delhi Police for allegedly misbehaving with a woman, making inappropriate gestures, and blowing flying kisses.

The case has been registered at Sangam Vihar Police Station under sections 323, 341, and 509 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS).

“A woman lodged a complaint at Sangam Vihar Police Station against AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya for giving her a flying kiss. Delhi Police has registered a case under relevant sections,” ANI quoted police sources.

Allegations Amid Delhi Elections

The incident comes amid the ongoing Delhi Assembly elections. Mohaniya, the sitting MLA from Sangam Vihar, is contesting for re-election as an AAP candidate against BJP’s Chandan Kumar Choudhary and Congress’s Harsh Choudhary.

Polling for Delhi’s 70 assembly seats began this morning, with voting open from 7 AM to 6 PM under tight security.

Key battleground constituencies include New Delhi, Jangpura, Kalkaji, Okhla, Mustafabad, Bijwasan, Kasturba Nagar, Greater Kailash, and Patparganj.

Major Contests and Voter Demographics

AAP, currently holding over 60 seats, is seeking re-election based on its governance record. The New Delhi seat sees a three-way contest between former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal (AAP), BJP’s Parvesh Verma, and Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit.

In Jangpura, AAP’s Manish Sisodia faces Congress’s Farhad Suri and BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah.

A total of 699 candidates are contesting across 70 seats. Delhi has 1.56 crore registered voters, including 2.39 lakh first-time voters (aged 18-19), 1.09 lakh elderly voters (85+), and 79,885 persons with disabilities.
