Rahul Gandhi Slams AAP and BJP in Delhi Rallies

Rahul Gandhi, leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during rallies in Patparganj and Okhla on Tuesday. He also criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly sidelining President Droupadi Murmu due to her tribal background.

Addressing a public gathering supporting Congress’s Patparganj candidate, Chaudhary Anil Kumar, Gandhi accused Kejriwal of deceiving voters by promising a new brand of politics but instead leading the country’s “biggest liquor scam.” “Kejriwal used to drive a small car, climbed electricity poles, and spoke against corruption. Now, he is embroiled in the biggest liquor scam India has seen. When Modi Ji evicted me from my house, I returned the keys without hesitation. But Kejriwal chose to live in a ‘Sheesh Mahal’ (glass palace) that the entire nation has seen,” Gandhi said.

His sharp remarks stood out, given that Congress and AAP are allies in the INDIA bloc and had contested the Lok Sabha elections together.

AAP dismissed the allegations, calling the liquor scam case a fabrication. Responding to X, Kejriwal wrote, “Modi ji put me in jail in a fake case. Why haven’t you and your family been caught in the National Herald case? Why did Robert Vadra get a clean chit from the BJP?”

BJP’s Stand on Caste Census and Wealth Inequality

Gandhi also accused the BJP of refusing to conduct a caste census because it prioritizes the interests of the wealthy over the marginalized. He pointed out that Dalits, tribals, minorities, and backward communities constitute 90% of India’s population, yet economic power remains concentrated in the hands of a privileged few.

“The BJP is silent on our demand for a caste census because they don’t want to expose the reality. Have you ever seen a major MNC owner or top executive from these communities? All the wealth is hoarded by the rich,” he said.

He further alleged that the BJP discriminated against President Murmu because of her tribal identity. “When the Ram temple in Ayodhya was inaugurated, President Murmu was not allowed near it. Ambani, Adani, and other billionaires were there, but not the President—because she is an Adivasi. Even during the inauguration of the new Parliament building, Modi ji did not allow her to preside over the event,” he claimed.

BJP Responds, Calls Gandhi’s Stance Inconsistent

The BJP hit back at Gandhi, accusing him of lacking a clear position. “He is attacking AAP today, but just last year, he fought elections in alliance with them. Rahul Gandhi must clarify where he stands,” said Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor.

Gandhi intensified his attack on Kejriwal at a rally in Okhla, supporting Congress candidate Ariba Khan, alleging that he feared Modi. “I don’t know about other parties, but Kejriwal is afraid of Modi,” he remarked.

Kejriwal responded on X, stating, “The country knows who is a coward and who is brave.”
