Pappu Yadav Takes a Swipe at BJP and AAP with a ‘Bade Miyan-Chote Miyan’ Remark

Independent MP and Congress supporter Pappu Yadav took aim at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, accusing both parties of failing the people of Delhi. Yadav claimed that while he had witnessed Prime Minister Narendra Modi lie, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had exceeded Modi in dishonesty. These remarks were made while Yadav campaigned for Congress candidate Anil Kumar in the Patparganj Assembly seat.
Yadav criticized the BJP for its focus on divisive issues rather than addressing the needs of Purvanchal. “The BJP has four main issues: Hindu-Muslim division, Adani’s wealth, the Election Commission, and the ED and CBI. They have no real concern for the country,” Yadav said.
He then took a swipe at both Modi and Kejriwal, stating, “Bade miyan to hai hi, chote miya Subhanallah. I have seen Modi lie, but Kejriwal has outdone him. He promised he wouldn’t become a VIP, but now he is the biggest VIP in the world. His promises about Paris streets, Yamuna, and Mohalla Clinics are meaningless. If there’s anyone who’s been most corrupt in the shortest time, it’s him. BJP is corrupt, but AAP is more corrupt.”
Yadav also praised former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, remembering her for her accomplishments during her time in office. “People remember Sheila Dikshit’s time because of the metro, green initiatives, and law and order,” he said.
Sandeep Dikshit, Congress’s candidate for the New Delhi Assembly seat, also took aim at AAP and BJP for neglecting crucial issues like unemployment. “Unemployment is a common issue. People in Delhi are frustrated with both AAP and BJP, who fail to provide real solutions. Our job is to reveal the truth about AAP to those still holding onto false hopes. Welfare is not about handing out freebies—it’s about building hospitals, schools, and houses,” Dikshit stated.
The Delhi Assembly elections will take place on February 5, with vote counting set for February 8. A total of 699 candidates are running for the 70 assembly seats in the city. Congress, which governed Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has faced setbacks in recent elections, failing to secure any seats. On the other hand, AAP has dominated the 2015 and 2020 elections, winning 67 and 62 seats, respectively, while BJP secured only three and eight seats.
