Saif Ali Khan’s spinal fluid leaked after fragments of the attacker’s knife became embedded in his spine during a confrontation with an intruder at his Bandra home last night, a doctor at Lilavati Hospital reported today. The doctor explained that they successfully repaired the spinal injury and also conducted plastic surgeries on his hand and neck, where he sustained stab wounds. He further confirmed that the 54-year-old actor is now out of danger and recovering well.

In his statement to the media, Dr. Nitin Dange said, “Saif Ali Khan was admitted to the hospital at 2 am following an alleged assault by an unknown assailant. He suffered a significant injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to a knife lodged in his spine,” he explained.

The thoracic spine refers to the section of the spine located between the base of the neck and the bottom of the ribs.

A surgery was carried out to remove the knife and repair the leaking spinal fluid. Additionally, the plastic surgery team treated two deep wounds on his left hand and another on his neck. “He is now completely stable, recovering well, and out of danger,” the doctor confirmed. Another medical professional added that the actor is on track for a full recovery. “Based on our understanding, the recovery should be 100 percent,” he stated. Earlier, the hospital had reported that the actor sustained six stab wounds.

While the attacker managed to flee, Mr. Khan was quickly rushed to the hospital, located about 2 km from his home, by his elder son Ibrahim. With no car available, Ibrahim assisted his bleeding father into an auto-rickshaw to take him to the hospital.

Police have confirmed that one suspect has been identified. “Ten teams have been formed to apprehend him. Initial investigations indicate that he entered Saif Ali Khan’s house using the stairs with the intent to commit robbery. More details will be provided once the suspect is in custody,” a senior police officer stated.
