Kannada Star Shiva Rajkumar Opens Up About Missing Out on Thalapathy 69

There has been significant buzz about Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar being offered a prominent role in Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film, his last project before the Tamil Nadu 2026 elections. Shiva Rajkumar confirmed that director H. Vinoth had personally met him in Bengaluru and narrated a compelling role. “It was a beautiful role in the film,” revealed the Bhairathi Ranagal actor.

‘It Will Not Work Out’

However, the Kannada star clarified that he is no longer part of Thalapathy 69. “Some weeks ago, director H. Vinoth met me again and informed me that, unfortunately, it will not work out this time for Vijay’s film. He assured me that he would approach me with another offer in the future,” said Shiva Rajkumar. While uncertain about the reasons behind the decision, he expressed no hard feelings, saying, “I don’t know what happened or why they withdrew the offer, but it’s not an issue for me.”

A Packed Schedule

Shiva Rajkumar has had a busy few years working across Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu films. His latest release, Bhairathi Ranagal, hit theatres on November 15. Reflecting on his schedule, the 62-year-old actor stated, “If I had taken up Vijay’s film, I would have had to reshuffle my dates. I recently finished 45 with director Arjun Janya and have Bhairavana Kone Paata with Hemanth Rao. I’ve also signed a project with Telugu director Buchi Babu Sana, starring Ram Charan. It’s a hectic time for me.”

Focus on Health

In addition to his packed film schedule, Shiva Rajkumar shared an update about his health. Without going into details, he revealed plans to visit the US in December for surgery. “I will be taking a break, but once I’m back in January 2025, I’ll resume work,” he reassured fans.

While fans might be disappointed that Shiva Rajkumar won’t appear in Thalapathy 69, his packed slate of upcoming projects across multiple languages promises plenty to look forward to.
