Diljit Dosanjh recently broke his silence on the ongoing fake ticket scam that has marred his Dil-Luminati India Tour, impacting fans who unknowingly purchased counterfeit tickets. At his Jaipur concert on Saturday, held at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre, Diljit addressed the issue directly, apologizing to fans affected by the scam. He clarified that neither he nor his team had any involvement in the fraudulent activity, reassuring the audience that authorities were actively investigating the situation.
Diljit, who previously performed two sold-out shows in Delhi, spoke to the crowd, expressing genuine regret. “If anyone has been affected by a ticket scam, I apologize. We are not responsible for this. Authorities are looking into the matter,” he said. He also urged fans to exercise caution and only buy tickets from the official seller, ZomatoLive, to avoid falling victim to scams.
He further explained that the high demand for tickets initially left him and his team unaware of the issue, saying, “Our tickets sold out so fast, even we didn’t get to know.” Fans in the crowd reported that Diljit appeared visibly apologetic, showing empathy for those who had been affected.
The scam first came to light after Diljit’s performance at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where numerous fans reported being scammed by unauthorized sellers. Several fans recounted their experiences of paying large sums for fake tickets only to be turned away at the venue. “It was a total waste to come here,” said one disappointed fan, while another shared, “I bought a ticket from someone who charged me a lot, only to find out it was fake.”
Despite multiple warnings from the tour organizers, urging fans to buy only from the authorized platform ZomatoLive, instances of ticket reselling and counterfeiting continued to surface. Even before the Jaipur concert, Jaipur Police issued a public advisory to warn concert-goers about the fake ticket issue, underscoring the scale of the scam.
Diljit’s candid acknowledgment of the problem and his heartfelt apology underscores his commitment to his fans and their experience. His response highlights the challenges popular artists face with high-demand events, as well as the growing issue of ticket fraud in major entertainment tours.
