Samantha Ruth Prabhu is on her journey to recovery after being diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune condition, and recently shared a glimpse of her daily routine. The Family Man 2 actress starts her day at 6:30 AM, soaking up some sunlight before engaging in oil pulling, gua sha, and a workout at 7 AM that combines strength and bodyweight training. She emphasized the importance of prayer and gratitude before diving into her workday. While commuting, she preps her eyes with a red light therapy mask and splashes her face with ice water.

Samantha’s evening routine includes more red light therapy at 6 PM, followed by pickleball at 7 PM. She practices meditation at 9:30 PM and aims to be in bed by 10 PM. She captioned her post with the phrase, “Life’s Golden.”

Why Staying Active is Essential for Good Health

Dr. Bhavana P., chief dietitian at Gleneagles Hospitals in Lakdi Ka Pul, Hyderabad, explains that a disciplined lifestyle, regular exercise, and proper nutrition form the cornerstone of good health.

Consistency in exercise is vital. Dr. Bhavana recommends incorporating compound exercises like squats, deadlifts, and bench presses, which target multiple muscle groups and boost metabolism. Cardiovascular workouts are also essential for reducing body fat and improving muscle definition. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) can be particularly effective for burning fat while preserving muscle mass.

Staying hydrated is also important for overall health.

Dr. Bhavana emphasizes the benefits of an early bedtime, noting that adequate sleep and stress management are often overlooked yet crucial for recovery and muscle growth. “Chronic stress and inadequate sleep can lead to hormonal imbalances that hinder progress,” she warns.

A balanced diet is another critical aspect of good health. The focus should be on lean proteins, whole grains, healthy fats, and a variety of fruits and vegetables. “Protein is vital for muscle repair and growth, while complex carbohydrates provide the energy needed for intense workouts. Healthy fats, such as those found in avocados and nuts, support overall health and hormone production,” Dr. Bhavana advises.
