Karan Johar, known for his impeccable style, made a striking impression at the launch of the luxury skin and haircare brand Augustinus Bader in Mumbai. While his sophisticated beige suit from Label Crestelli stood out, it was a unique accessory that truly captured everyone’s attention.
The filmmaker complemented his suit with an eye-catching braided hair tie from Schiaparelli’s Autumn-Winter 2024 collection, unveiled during Paris Fashion Week. This bold choice added a whimsical and luxurious touch to his overall look.
According to the description on the Schiaparelli website, “This trompe l’oeil cowboy tie in faux hair is inspired by the Maison’s surrealist aesthetic and this season’s cowboy theme.” The tie is composed of 95% nylon and 5% brass, designed to mimic the appearance of human hair. The brand introduced this piece to their collection following their ready-to-wear show in April, where models walked the runway wearing ties made of actual hair, causing a sensation in the fashion world.
This one-of-a-kind accessory is priced at an astonishing 2,100 euros, which is approximately ₹1,93,685—nearly two lakhs!
Karan’s suit featured a double-breasted blazer with notch lapel collars, padded shoulders, full-length sleeves, front gold metal button closures, and a relaxed fit, paired with matching tapered-fit pants and a crisp white button-down shirt.
In addition to the blonde braided hair tie, Karan’s ensemble included a tan jumbo Hermès Birkin bag, matching heeled dress shoes, classic Lennon-style glasses, and an embellished eye brooch by Schiaparelli.
