Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address two election rallies on Thursday in Srinagar and Katra as part of the BJP’s campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls, according to party officials.
“On September 19, Prime Minister Modi will hold a major rally at Sher-e-Kashmir Park in Srinagar ahead of the Assembly elections,” a party spokesperson announced. Approximately 30,000 party workers are expected to attend. Senior BJP leader Mohammad Anwar Khan has been appointed as the in-charge for the rally.
Following the Srinagar event, Modi will travel to Katra to address a public meeting.
The remaining phases of the Jammu and Kashmir elections will take place on September 25 and October 1, with vote counting scheduled for October 8.
In Haryana, BJP President J.P. Nadda will speak to party workers in Rohtak on Wednesday. He will also unveil the party’s manifesto, titled Sankalp Patra. Haryana will vote in a single phase on October 5, with results announced on October 8.
In other news, India will host the second Global Food Regulators Summit from September 19-21 in the national capital, bringing together delegates from over 70 countries to discuss key regulatory issues. The summit is organized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
Additionally, President Droupadi Murmu will address the Safai Mitra Sammelan and lay the foundation stone for the Indore-Ujjain Six-lane Road Project in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on Wednesday. She will also participate in the 14th convocation of Devi Ahilya University in Indore, as per an official statement.
