After portraying the courtesan-turned-rebel Bibbojaan in Heeramandi, Aditi Rao Hydari returned to dazzle with desi glamour! On Day 6 of FDCI Hyundai India Couture Week 2024, she stole the spotlight as the showstopper for designer Jayanti Reddy, looking ethereal in a gold sequined peplum kurta paired with matching sharara.
The ensemble featured a plunging neckline accentuated by a diamond choker with a sparkling round drop pendant, and a cinched waist that highlighted her graceful silhouette. Aditi styled her look with bold plum lips, pin-straight brown hair, and a regal poise as she glided down the ramp with elegance.
Jayanti Reddy’s collection, Evocative Nawabi Canvas, drew inspiration from Hyderabad’s rich cultural heritage. Who better to close the show than Aditi Rao Hydari, known for her royal lineage?
“Reddy’s collection showcased heritage textiles mingled with antique motifs, revisiting India’s regal past. The 40 looks featured traditional embroideries that reflect the opulent lifestyles of the royals,” the FDCI noted in an Instagram post.
In an interview with Vogue, Aditi expressed her enthusiasm for the outfit, saying, “It’s not a lehenga. It’s Banarasi silk with traditional zardosi and beadwork, but the silhouette is super contemporary, and I absolutely love it.”
Jayanti Reddy, hailing from culturally rich Hyderabad, frequently draws inspiration from Nawabi influences, evident in her ornate high jewelry collections and grand designs. Against a rustic brown and beige backdrop, they showcased a range of saris, gowns, lehengas, jackets, and capes in rich hues of ivory, violet, red, and pink, with bespoke diamond and emerald jewelry adding the finishing touch.
