Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Chandu Champion’ opened to decent box office numbers, earning ₹5.4 crore on its first day. This inspirational sports biopic, directed by Kabir Khan, is based on the life of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar.

Despite the film’s inspirational story, ‘Chandu Champion’ earned approximately ₹5.4 crore on its opening day, marking the lowest opening for a Kartik Aaryan film since his breakout hit, ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ in 2015.

It is also about half of what his last theatrical release, ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha,’ earned on its opening day last year, which was Rs 8.25 crore. Kartik’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2,’ had an impressive opening of Rs 14.11 crore, eventually grossing Rs 265.5 crore globally.
